Best Quality Rolex Stella Dial vs. Oyster Perpetual Watches

Best Quality Rolex Stella Dial vs. Oyster Perpetual Watches

One of the fresh trends sweeping the luxury watch scene these days is brightly colored dials. This is due in large part to Rolex’s new line of Oyster Perpetual watches that will be launched in the second half of 2020. With shades like yellow, turquoise, and red, the colorful Oyster Perpetual is a welcome addition to the more muted hues we’ve come to associate with fine watchmaking, even though these brightly colored replica Rolex dials were discontinued after only about a year and a half of production.
The name actually comes from a Swiss company called Stella, which supplied Rolex dial makers with particular lacquers and pigments for the production of these brightly colored dials. However, today they are simply known in the collecting world as Rolex Stella dials. These dials are known to have been produced in limited numbers, initially primarily for the Middle Eastern market. The combination of the lustrous, high-gloss dial with the usually conservative 36mm Day-Date President’s watch was a striking and unexpected move.
Perhaps this aesthetic was too unexpected for most people, as Rolex Stella watches were not much more popular at the time. In addition, the number of options available for each model was drastically reduced. For instance, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 is now only available with a black, silver, bright blue, or green dial, with the green option being the only one left with saturation and shine similar to that which can be found on the vintage Rolex Stella dial.
With this in mind, not all sizes offered all the different dial color options, even at the time of initial launch. For example, while the 36mm Oyster Perpetual model was initially offered in all different dial colors, the 41mm model notably did not offer a pink candy option. After that, the number of different models available has been further reduced, making it harder for buyers to get the exact watch they want.
Given these fundamental differences, it is refreshing that cheap Rolex would choose its entry-level models to showcase the vibrant and collectible dial styles once reserved for its most exclusive watch collections. Rolex even revived the idea of the Stella style for a short time in 2013, when it released a number of Day-Date models with colorful dials and matching leather straps. However, the most easygoing Rolex models have recently been chosen to serve up candy-colored dials – and buyers have been eating it up.
Rolex has long been considered a conservative brand, sticking to a classic color palette and timeless silhouettes. With that in mind, and given that fake Rolex has had all of its colored Oyster Perpetual dials as part of its catalog for just under two years, it’s also clear that Rolex knows exactly when and how to add a splash of color to its lineup for maximum effect.
